Welcome to the digital home for the art and works of me, Timothy De Costa.

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communications from The Illinois Institute of Art–Chicago, I’ve spent over a decade immersed in the dynamic world of design. My work spans art direction, illustration, branding, typography, UX/UI design, photography, and more. I’m fortunate to have collaborated with a diverse range of industries and clients, which keeps my creative energy constantly flowing.

Currently, I’m a Senior Art Director in downtown Chicago. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of shaping brand identities, websites, and campaigns for musicians, artists, actors, and household names like Craftsman, Kenmore, Sears, and Amana. I’ve even tackled concept designs for Sony and The Art Institute of Chicago Museum. Each project has challenged me to dig deeper, explore new perspectives, and deliver work that is thoughtful, innovative, and on-point.

My toolbox includes expert-level mastery of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, alongside proficiency in tools like After Effects, Sketch, Axure, and Adobe XD. Lately, I’ve been diving into Cinema 4D and Adobe Premiere Pro, always eager to expand my skill set and explore new creative horizons.

My love for design traces back to childhood, when I’d take apart various toys and electronics just to see how they worked—and how I could reimagine them. That early experimentation taught me that beauty lies not just in what you see but in how things work together. Today, I bring that same curiosity to every project, dissecting objectives to uncover meaningful, strategic, and innovative design solutions.

For me, design isn’t just a career—it’s a lifelong exploration of art, technology, and their ability to shape culture. Staying at the forefront of design trends and technology is not just a passion; it’s an essential part of my creative process. I believe that by blending imagination with strategy, we can create work that inspires, connects, and leaves a lasting impact.
